International Recognition of GADCEA — A New Chapter for Georgia’s Anti-Doping System

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has officially confirmed the Georgian Anti-Doping Control and Education Agency’s (GADCEA) acceptance of the World Anti-Doping Code and congratulated the Agency on its international recognition.

With this recognition, GADCEA has become a full participant in the global anti-doping movement. This important milestone confirms the Agency’s commitment to operating in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and the relevant International Standards.

In its official letter, WADA stated that GADCEA’s work contributes to protecting clean sport, fair competition and integrity in sport. WADA also expressed its readiness to continue close cooperation with GADCEA to develop a strong and independent anti-doping system in Georgia and protect athletes’ interests.

International recognition represents both a major achievement and a significant responsibility for GADCEA. The Agency will continue strengthening the national testing programme, developing anti-doping education, managing results, expanding international cooperation and safeguarding athletes’ rights.

GADCEA is the only National Anti-Doping Organisation in Georgia recognised by both WADA and the Ministry of Sport of Georgia.

GADCEA’s international recognition marks a new chapter in the development of Georgia’s anti-doping system and supports the creation of a clean, fair and values-based sporting environment in the country.
