CEADO–GADCEA Working Meeting Held in Vienna

CEADO–GADCEA Working Meeting Held in Vienna

A CEADO–GADCEA Mentoring Working Meeting was held at the offices of NADA Austria in Vienna, focusing on strengthening Georgia’s anti-doping system and planning the next stages of the mentoring programme.

A major achievement for GADCEA has been its recognition by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and obtaining WADA Code Signatory status. CEADO’s support, expert guidance, and close cooperation with Georgia played an important role throughout this process.

Georgia’s full integration into the international anti-doping system marks a new stage in the country’s commitment to clean sport. Cooperation with CEADO and its member National Anti-Doping Organisations is contributing to the development of an independent, effective, and internationally compliant anti-doping system in Georgia.

During the Vienna meeting, the key mentoring areas were defined: the Polish Anti-Doping Agency (POLADA) will mentor GADCEA in testing, the Hungarian Anti-Doping Group (HUNADO) in results management, and the Slovak Anti-Doping Agency (SADA) in anti-doping education.

The meeting was attended by Khatuna Saganelidze, Head of GADCEA; Ekaterine Daphkviashvili, Head of GADCEA’s Education Department; Milica Vukašinović-Vesić, Director of ADAS; Michael Cepic, CEO of NADA Austria; Olha Zavhorodnya, International Projects Manager at POLADA; Žaneta Csáderová, Director of SADA; Tomáš Pagáč, Deputy Director of SADA; and Gergely Balázs, Legal Director of HUNADO.

The participants reviewed the progress already achieved, discussed the next steps in each area, and jointly developed the CEADO–GADCEA Mentoring Project Action Plan.

GADCEA expresses its sincere gratitude to CEADO and its member National Anti-Doping Organisations for their support to Georgia, for sharing their professional expertise and experience, and for their active involvement in the development of the country’s anti-doping system.

This cooperation aims to support the establishment of a strong, independent, and sustainable anti-doping system in Georgia and to further strengthen long-term cooperation with European partners.
