Clean Sport Guide for Young Athletes
The Georgian Anti-Doping Control and Education Agency (GADCEA) has developed a Clean Sport Guide for young athletes — a practical educational resource designed to help them understand anti-doping rules and make informed decisions.
The guide provides clear and accessible information on:
Athletes’ rights and responsibilities;
The 11 Anti-Doping Rule Violations;
The principle of Strict Liability;
The safe use of medications and the TUE application process;
Risks associated with supplements;
The stages of the doping control process;
Athletes’ rights and responsibilities during testing;
How to deal with social pressure and unreliable information;
Key considerations before travelling abroad or attending a competition.
Young athletes should understand that they are responsible for everything that enters their bodies. Therefore, before taking any medication or supplement, it is essential to check its ingredients and status using reliable and official sources.
The guide has been prepared in accordance with the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code, which comes into effect on 1 January 2027.
